BREADCRUMB is a 3-year Horizon Europe project, coordinated by EV-ILVO, consisting on 21 participants hailing from 7 countries, that started on January 2024. It aims to analyze food marketing standards, their impact on food waste, and propose interventions that balance food waste reduction with other standards’ objectives. The goal is to help food chain actors enhance the business potential of suboptimal foods.
The project is focused on 5 food commodities (cereals, eggs, fruits and vegetables, fish, and meat) distributed in 16 case studies.
