BREADCRUMB is a 3-year Horizon Europe project, coordinated by EV-ILVO, consisting on 21 participants hailing from 7 countries, that started on January 2024. It aims to analyze food marketing standards, their impact on food waste, and propose interventions that balance food waste reduction with other standards’ objectives. ​The goal is to help food chain actors enhance the business potential of suboptimal foods.

The project is focused on 5 food commodities (cereals, eggs, fruits and vegetables, fish, and meat) distributed in 16 case studies.
