CARBIOS Active: the enzymatic solution for 100% compostable PLA at ambient temperature

Since February 2024, CARBIOS Active is BPI Certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI).

The BPI Certification Mark is the defining symbol of compostability for North American audiences across the value chain and guarantees CARBIOS Active’s quality to brand owners and industrial composters. By including CARBIOS Active, brands can safely design and market fully biodegradable packaging to meet their circularity commitments.

DIN CERTCO Certification

Recently, CARBIOS Active was awarded "Home Compostable" certification by DIN CERTCO for the use of this revolutionary solution in PLA products up to 2mm thickness.

This globally recognized certification confirms that products containing CARBIOS Active meet home composting standards. So now, takeaway food packaging, disposable cutlery, etc., can follow new paths of valorization.

Food Contact Notification

Finally, the biological solution CARBIOS Active was added to FDA (Food and Drug Administration) inventory of Food Contact Substances. With this milestone, the masterbatch can be used to make packaging materials that are sold in the United States and come into contact with food, including rigid and flexible packaging, and other applications.
