Innovation: Good Practice Guidelines for Retailers
SISTERS has developed Good Practice Guidelines to help retailers and wholesalers reduce food waste through a set of 10 practical best practices, supported by a voluntary Seal of Excellence. The guidelines cover key areas such as stock optimisation, cold chain management, food donations and consumer engagement. To support large-scale adoption, SISTERS recommends combining voluntary retailer commitments with standardised reporting, market incentives and knowledge-sharing frameworks at EU level, enabling retailers to reduce waste while responding to growing consumer demand for sustainability.
